CHESHIRE - Norma Papandrea, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 5, 2017 at home in Cheshire. She was the wife of the late Frank Papandrea who passed away in 2012.
Norma was born January 20, 1930 in Meriden, the daughter of the late Sidney and Alberta (Turner) Skinner. She attended the University of Connecticut and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology. After marrying, Norma moved to Cheshire and operated Tower Farms with her husband. She is remembered by many who visited The Tower for her welcoming smile and vast knowledge of plants. Later, she ran the local support group for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Parkinsons Disease Association. Norma was kind, patient and generous, and was known for her hospitality and graciousness to everyone. She loved spending time supporting her grandchildren in their activities especially sports and theatre. She also loved reading, puzzles, and dogs.
Norma is survived by her daughters Linda Hall, Debrah Manke and her husband Jonathan, and Katherine Ardesia and her husband Robert all of Cheshire; her grandchildren David, Dan, Elena, Olivia, Katie, and Maggie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, Norma is predeceased by her sister Barbara Waite.
Arrangements – The funeral for Norma will be held on Friday March 10, 2017 at 10 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J.
