Roxbury - Norma Ruby Blum Cutler, 77, loving wife of the late Henry J. Cutler, MD, of Roxbury, CT died peacefully on Friday May 24, 2019 at home after a short illness surrounded by family and friends.

Born on September 11, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Sylvia Gesser Blum and Irving Blum.

She graduated from Curry College in Milton, MA, and then obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University in 1986. Norma was a passionate counselor for 33 years. She was dedicated to her patients and was a wonderful therapist.

Norma and Henry had twenty wonderful years together. They shared their love of world travel with friends, their most favorite place being Hawaii. After Henry’s passing, Norma became an avid equestrian. She loved nature, her bearded collies Sebastian and Nikki, her Icelandic horse Leista, and her beautiful home of 40 years. Norma was a free spirit who embraced the time spent with those close to her and made wonderful memories with all of them.

Norma leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Robert and Julie Malkin, Frank and Janice Malkin and Neil Malkin. Mark and Rochelle Schaevitz and Eric Schaevitz. Her sister-in-law, Mildred Malkin, and sister Phyllis Godefsky. She also leaves her very close friends Nelson Zackin, Peter and Leslie Zackin, Joel Zackin and Celeste Suggs and Linda Zackin and Dennis Weeks. Norma will also be greatly missed by many grandnieces and nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom she cherished. She was predeceased by her dear friend Roselyn Zackin. A special thank you to Norma’s caregivers Gloria, Maria, and Travelyn. Norma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements - Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Bearded Collie Rescue Fund or any animal-related charity. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704 is assisting the family with the arrangements.
