Niqui Truong

Niqui Truong was born in Cheshire, Connecticut, on July 24, 1986. It is with great sadness that after a brave and courageous seven-year battle with cancer, she passed away on April 8, 2024, at only 37 years old. Niqui is survived by her loving parents, Quyen and Denh Truong; her sister, Jackie Truong; her brother, Jared Truong; and many loyal friends and extended family members. 

Although too short, Niqui lived life to the fullest. She prioritized education and earned a Bachelor of Science at Northeastern University. She made Boston her home for many years before moving back to Connecticut. Niqui was full of energy and spontaneity; she was always up to date on the newest music, fashion, food trends, and places to be. Niqui enjoyed spending time with her loved ones at home relaxing, exploring new restaurants, going on road trips, or traveling to new tropical destinations. Niqui’s big heart and passion for life made her a magnet to many friends everywhere she went.

Niqui was a true fighter determined to maximize her time and make more memories with her friends and family. We are forever thankful to all of the outstanding clinicians at Dana Farber and Yale New Haven Hospital for their support and for working so hard to prolong her time. Even on her most challenging days, she was smiling and laughing, and in true Niqui fashion, she was still protecting, taking care of, and thinking about those around her. 

While this is a time of sadness, it is a time we also honor Niqui, who will forever be remembered for her wild laugh, her sarcastic sense of humor, as well as her passion for life and all its opportunities. We will forever cherish all our time together.

A memorial for Niqui will be held at Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, Connecticut, on April 13, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Niqui will be laid to rest at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Niqui to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Thank you, everyone, for honoring Niqui and making her last days the best they could be. We will miss you and always love you, Niqui. Until we meet again …
