Nicholas Sapiente

CHESHIRE - Nicholas M. Sapiente, 85 passed away on Thursday May 20, 2010 at the Masonic Home and Hospital in Wallingford. He was the husband of Marguerite (Comboni) Sapiente.

Nicholas was born in New Haven on July 21, 1924 and was the son of the late Cosmo and Frances (Gambardella) Sapiente. He worked in retail for the former Kramer Store in New Haven until his retirement. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a communicant of St. Thomas Becket Church.

Besides his wife of 52 years he leaves his son Nicholas M. Sapiente and his wife Catherine of Groton; his daughter Donna M. Gaudino of West Haven; his sister Sue Dilieto and her husband Anthony of New Haven and Four grandchildren.

Arrangements- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday May 24, 2010 at St. Thomas Becket Church 435 Brooksvale Rd. Cheshire at 10:00. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Bridget Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research Church Street Station P.O. Box 780 New York, NY 10008-0780. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S. Main St. is in care of arrangements.
