Waterbury _ Nicholas V. Costantini, 86, of Waterbury and formerly of Lauder Hill, FL, passed away Wednesday February 4, 2009 at Elim Park Baptist Home in Cheshire. He was the husband of the late Violet (Conner) Costantani.

Mr. Costantini was born October 14, 1922 in Waterbury the son of the late Gabriel and Isabel (Zaccaninni) Costantini. He was educated in local school and attended Bentley College before being drafted into the Army in 1943. He was a WWII veteran, a life time member of V.F.W. Post #807 in Prospect, and a member of the American Legion Post 400 in Sunrise, FL. After his discharge in 1946, Mr. Costantini worked for his parents before becoming the owner/operator of the Bunker Hill Market.

After his retirement, Mr. Costantini enjoyed spending his winters in Lauder Hill, FL and his summer home in Morris, CT. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He loved his family especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also an avid Red Sox fan.

Mr. Costantini is survived by his two daughters Carol Blake and her husband Thomas of Waterbury and Christine Venslovas and her husband Edward of Cheshire, with whom he made his home; a sister Beatrice Foster of Morris; his four grandchildren Edward "EJ" Marzucca and his wife Ornella of Wolcott, Nicholas Marzucca USN of Camp Pendelton, CA, Michael Marzucca of Waterbury, and Christina Fiorillo and her husband Al of Southington; his precious great grandchildren Ashley, Zachary, Nicholas and Nathan Marzucca, Ryan Fiorillo and Sean Burdg; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Alba (Gaylord) Esposito.

Arrangements ' A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 2030 East Main St. in Waterbury. A military burial will be held at the convenience of the family in New Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
