Maria Nata

Naugatuck, CT- Maria R. (Rebelo) Nata, 92, died peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Beacon Brook Health Center with her loving family at her side.

Maria was born in Quintas Do Norte, Portugal, on Feb. 20, 1925, daughter of the late Sebastiao and Maria Jose (Oliveira) Rebelo. Maria loved many things including gardening, sewing and cooking for her family. Maria was most of all proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were her world.

Maria is survived by her daughters Ana Fallon and husband Jim; Connie Chipelo and husband John; Maria Fonseca; Linda Moutinho and husband Val; her son Francisco Nata and wife Doris; her son-in-law Zeca DeMatos; her 14 Grandchildren; and her 14 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Maria goes to join her daughter Albertina DeMatos; and her son-in-law Agostinho Fronseca.

Maria’s family would like to thank all the wonderful Nurses, caretakers, and staff members at Beacon Brook who cared for her especially Damaris, Jay, Diane, Jahara, Helena, Victor, Carolyn, and Deliann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury. Everyone is kindly asked to go directly to church. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5-7pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
