Nancy J. Young

CHESHIRE- Nancy J. Young, 75, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at her home in Cheshire, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Allan R. Young, and was also a cherished sister, aunt, cousin, and friend leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

Born September 9, 1948, in New Haven, CT, Nancy was the daughter of the late James and Nancy Fusco. She married her love, Allan, in 1970 and with him created an amazing family. Nancy leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Steve Braun and Amy and Rich Lyons. She also leaves behind her five adored grandchildren: Ally, Justin and Lizzie Braun and Mia and Sophia Lyons. She will also be greatly missed by her sister and brother-in-law Ellen and Larry Buley, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Diane and Rick Dobson and Donald and Dottie Young as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

We could tell you about all Nancy’s great accomplishments throughout her life, but what was most important to her was her family, extended family, and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed being with those she loved, whether it was at her annual Thanksgiving extravaganza, cooking and sharing her Italian specialties, traveling with family and friends, or sharing her love of wine and snacks. But what made her smile the brightest and feel the most excited was being in her favorite place - Walt Disney World and with her favorite mouse, Mickey. Her exuberance, infectious smile and laugh, thoughtfulness and love for a party will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her and be loved by her.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish / St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Road, Cheshire. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Friends may call at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, Tuesday evening, July 30, 2024, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Nancy’s family is so very grateful for the support and care of the Hartford Hospital Hospice team as well as The Hospital of Central Connecticut 5th floor medical team. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in her name, may be made to Hartford HealthCare at Home.
