Nancy Ellen Starr, age 71, of Cheshire entered into rest on Wednesday. December 14, 2022 at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Cromwell. She was the devoted wife of William P. “Bill” Starr for over 50 years. Nancy was born on April 21, 1951 in Kew Gardens, Queens, NY, daughter of the late Edward D. and Margaret M. (Treloar) Tobin.
Nancy was known for her humorous nature and bright bubbly personality, her infectious laughter and joking around was a common occurrence that brought a smile to everyone in her presence. She worked as a teacher’s aide for the Cheshire Public Schools for over 30 years, and was a tap and ballet instructor, orchestrating several recitals at the Brooklyn Dance School. Although extremely comical, she had a strong faith in God and was a kind, empathetic and genuine soul. Nancy sought out moments of joy, known for impromptu dinners with family, and her love of music and dancing and old movies. Nancy and Bill enjoyed spending time at their cabin up in Vermont, canoeing and bird watching, especially cardinals.
