WALLINGFORD- Nancy G. Fowler, 92, formerly of Cheshire, passed away Sunday June 7, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Donald K. Fowler in 2011.
She was born March 28, 1923 in Hamden daughter of the late Frank and Pauline (Pellegrini) Omicioli.
Nancy was a graduate of Hamden High School Class of 1940, where she served on both the 50th and 60th Class Reunion Committees. She was a founding member of both St. Bridget and St. Thomas Becket Churches, a Den Mother for three years, made sandwiches for St. Vincent DePaul’s, and worked on a variety of committees in the Ladies Guild and Woman’s Club. She loved all creatures especially cats and dogs, and one of her favorite hobbies was planting flowers, where she was known to have a green thumb.
Nancy and her husband made many good friends after living in Cheshire since 1955. They loved the town very much, and above all loved the company of their church friends. Mr. and Mrs. Fowler belonged to a Card Club which met monthly for 28 years. She bowled with “The Early Birds” for more years then she can remember. They had a wonderful group of women making every holiday a social event with goodies and prizes. The high light of living in Cheshire was to assist Dr. Oxmard with Home Delivery. Everyone should see the miracle of a baby being born.
Mrs. Fowler is survived by her son Donald R. and his wife Virginia Fowler of Venice, FL; her daughter Paula Fowler of Wallingford; a grandson Gregory and his wife Danielle Fowler of Cheshire; and two great granddaughters Allison and Avery Fowler.
