Naugatuck, Connecticut: Milton Daniel Gendron, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Complete Care at Glendale. He was the loving husband of 74 years to Eleanor (Spurosky) Gendron.
Milton was born November 13, 1930, in Waterbury and raised in Cheshire. He was a longtime resident of Naugatuck where he and his wife raised their family of 7 children. Milton was a truck driver for his entire working career. During this time, he was employed by companies including Cott Beverages and Country Homes Bakery where he drove locally and cross-country. Within 5 minutes of meeting someone, he would be able to connect to them through stories of his various travels. Upon retiring at the age of 62, he missed driving so much he returned to work part-time as a driver delivering parts and vehicles for Saturn of Watertown and Shakers.
Milton was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He loved getting together with family and friends to have a beer and watch the games. Another passion was motorcycles. At the age of 18, his first date with his wife took place while riding on a Harley. This led later in life to his passion of riding dirt bikes and joining the Pathfinders where he developed strong social relationships and enjoyed riding trails together and in many enduros.
Milton had great love for his family. Besides his wife of 74 years, he is survived by his children Gary Gendron (Enid), Kevin Gendron (Theresa), Lori Cosgrove (former husband William), Denis Gendron (Trudie), Denise Ball (Douglas), Dani Gendron, Cheryl Patricolo (Joseph); his grandchildren Kevin Jr., Jamie, Ann, Amanda, Jacob, Dustin, and Brandon; his great grandchildren Nathan and Kayla; his sisters Barbara Wheeler, Diane Desrochers, Joan Cerasale, and Jeanette Tegolini. In addition to his parents Otto and Violet (Fornier) Gendron, he is predeceased by his brothers Earl and Edward and his sisters Beatrice Grenier, Ruth Fortier, and Jacquline Swiridowsky.
Arrangements - Friends may greet Milton’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 5 to 7:00 P.M. A brief service and words of remembrance will commence at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
