MIDDLEBURY- Mildred A. Morrone, 87, passed away Saturday March 9, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Alphonse Joseph Morrone.
She was born November 26, 1925 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Slayson) Altfeter.
Mildred was the Hostess of her family's restaurant, Morrone's, in Waterbury prior to her retirement.
She is survived by three sons, Guy and his wife, Ann Morrone, of Palm Coast, FL; Matthew and his wife, Karen Morrone, of Prospect; and Andrew Morrone of Waterbury; a brother Frederick and his wife, Madelyn Altfeter, of Southington; a sister Trudy and her husband, William Pettinicchi, of Wolcott; and six grandchildren Jennifer, Kimberly, Andrew, Krista, Adriana, and Nico. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marsha Morrone.
Arrangements - A Memorial Service for Mildred will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 16 Church Street, Waterbury, CT 06702. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Avenue, 06710 is assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to VNA Health Care, 50 Brookside Road, Waterbury, CT 06708.
