BRISTOL - Melanie Ann Gonzales, 41, passed away Tuesday August 23, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of the late Rev. Thomas Gonzales.
Mrs. Gonzales was born April 20, 1970 in Meriden the daughter of Elizabeth Rinaldi and the late George Phillips. She was raised in Meriden before moving to New York for several years. Several years ago she returned to Connecticut and settled in Bristol. She enjoyed cooking and was often referred to as the "Cookie and Soup Lady". She was a member of the First Bible Church of Plainville where she played piano.
Besides her mother and step-father Louis of Meriden, Melanie is survived by her sons Michael P. Wnek of Meriden, Thomas Q., Simon and Titus all of Bristol; her daughter Tabitha A. Gonzales of Bristol; her step-daughter Chelsea Gonzales of San Diego, CA; her brothers Paul J. Phillips of Meriden, Donald G. Phillips of Pittsburg, PA; her sister Brenda M. Hillman of Bristol; as well as an several aunts, cousins nieces and nephews.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 27, 2011 at 4 p.m. at the First Bible Baptist Church, 12 Granger Lane, Plainville. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Account for Melanie Gonzales Children's Needs, c/o Webster Bank 652 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06451. The Alderson Funeral home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. is assisting with arrangements.
