Waterbury ' Maxine Corning Pomeroy, 87, formerly of Waterbury, passed away Thursday April 23, 2009 at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. She was the wife of the late Oural B. Pomeroy.
Mrs. Pomeroy was born March 19, 1922 in Danforth, ME the daughter of the late Clyde and Margaret (Boyle) Corning. She was a longtime Waterbury resident having moved to the city over 65 years ago from Maine. She had worked at Waterbury Hospital for over 30 years in the Radiology Department before retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Pomeroy is survived by her son Donald E. Pomeroy and his wife Lindaof Prospect; her two daughters Juanita Landry and her husband Roger of East Haven and Sheila Kronen and her husband Donald of Ocala, Fl; her sister Mildred Cote of Old Town, ME; her grandchildren Christopher Pomeroy, Matthew Stocking, Stacy Petrosky, Mark Stocking, Rebecca Zinko and Timothy Landry; and 12 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers Albert and Clyde and Claire Corning and her sister Louise Emerson.
Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Riverside Cemetery in Maine.
