Maureen Elaine Shepherd

Maureen Elaine (Mitchell) Shepherd, 54, of Meriden, formerly of Cheshire and Jackson, Michigan, passed away Thursday May 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Maureen was born September 30, 1967 in Waterbury a daughter of Barbara Jean (Linsley) Mitchell and the late James Russell Mitchell. She was a graduate of Cheshire High School and had worked as the Manager of Johnny’s Markets in Michigan. Maureen loved to laugh, spend time with her family and was a dedicated mom who never missed any of her children’s activities. Maureen will always be remembered and be a positive influence for her family and friends.

Besides her mother of Wallingford, she leaves her sons, Cody Shepherd of Meriden and Mitchell Shepherd of Sacramento, California, her daughter, Ashley Shepherd of Cheshire, her brothers and sisters, James Mitchell of Cheshire, Christine Scott of Manchester, Vermont, Jennifer Crose of Cheshire, Michael Mitchell of Wallingford, Barbara Mitchell of Wallingford and Stephanie Alberti of Meriden, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maureen’s funeral procession will leave the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to Saint Bridget of Sweden Parish/Saint Bridget Church, 175 Main Street in Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately in Saint Bridget Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartford Healthcare 1290 Silas Deane Highway Wethersfield, CT 06109 or to Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven 35 Park Street New Haven, CT 06519.
