Angela R. Matusz
1952 - 2020

Naugatuck, CT Angela Matusz, RN, BSN, ONC of 464 Hillside Avenue, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Romaniello; survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Dr. Robert P. Matusz and her loving children, Steve (Liz) Howard of Watertown, CT and Shawna (Brian) Cleary of Wolcott, CT died peacefully on August 21, 2020, on her floor at Waterbury Hospital.

Left to cherish her memory are her wonderful grandchildren, Logan and Payton Howard, step grandchildren, Neve and Kale Seniff and her special little boy, Padraig Cleary, who affectionately called Angela, “Mema”. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and many more family and friends who will miss her dearly, especially Aunt Mariah Goffin and her daughter, Mary Goffin. And let’s not forget her faithful companion, Rocky the Rottweiler.

Angela was born on October 21, 1952 in Waterbury, CT. She graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, Summa Cum Laude and received the Florence Nightingale Award for Clinical Excellence. She earned her BSN from Westconn and obtained her certification in Orthopedic Nursing.

Over her 40 years in the field of nursing, she was recognized for her excellence within her field. She was employed at Waterbury Hospital on the Orthopedic Unit for 25 years. She most recently retired from Middlebury Convalescent Home as Nursing Supervisor.

Angela touched many lives and will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. She was the Nurse who mothered everyone with her care, concern, thoughtfulness and love. Angela was respected and admired by all of her colleagues and co-workers at Waterbury Hospital and Middlebury Convalescent Home. We will miss her good humor, warm smile and eggplant parmesan. She loved the Rhode Island beaches, the casino and long drives in her Volvo.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff on Pomeroy Seven at Waterbury Hospital for their kindness, compassion and exemplary care during her final days.

They say it’s not what you have in life, but what you leave behind that matters. I will love and miss you forever “For my Darling, I love you, and I always will” Love Me Tender, Bob.
