»(Do not delete this line. It does not print. Text that is to appear on web must be entered before this line)Matthew Fitzsimmons, 56, of Chandler Arizona, passed away peacefully on Friday November 9th, 2018 after a year long battle with stage 4 colon cancer.

He was raised in Cheshire, Connecticut by his parents Peter and Lucille (Place) Fitzsimmons. Together they had eleven children and born on February 1,1962 Matthew became their eighth child. He leaves behind his brothers Thomas Fitzsimmons, James Fitzsimmons, Paul Fitzsimmons, Andrew Fitzsimmons, Robert Fitzsimmons; his sisters Eileen Rauccio, Annette Morello, Loretta Camp, Linda Hughes and Cheryl Staub with their spouses and many nieces and nephews

He worked for the United States Post Office for 25 years; first in Hartford Connecticut then transferring in 2014 to Phoenix, Arizona. He retired in April, shortly after his diagnosis.

Matthew was predeceased by his wife of twenty years, Alyce Marie (Gladu) Fitzsimmons 10 years ago. He leaves behind a son Matthew Fitzsimmons II and his wife Erin and identical twin daughters Krysta Fitzsimmons and Karyl Fitzsimmons and her ten month old son Lucas. He loved his family, rescue animals and Corvette.

Arrangements – A memorial service for Mr. Fitzsimmons will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1 Cross Street, Naugatuck. Friends may greet his family from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Matthew’s name, can be made to the Children’s Hunger Fund, Dept LA 24373, Pasadena, CA 91185-4373
