Manuel Matos

Naugatuck- Manuel M. Matos, 81, the husband of Rosa Matos, died peacefully at home on May 21, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Manuel was born on January 14, 1936 in Murtosa, Portugal a son of the late Joao Augusto and Ana Joaquina Matos. Manuel was a hard working and skilled carpenter. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and Clube União Portuguesa. Manuel enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grand children.

In addition to his loving wife of 50 years Rosa, Manuel is survived by his 3 children Manuel M. Matos Jr. and his wife Cristina, Ann Simoes and her husband Daniel, and John Matos and his wife Sossy; his 6 grandchildren Michaela Matos, Alexander Matos, Eli Simoes, Emmeline Matos, Violette Matos, and Milla Matos; and his brother Joao Matos. In addition to his parents Manuel is predeceased by his brothers Artur and Antonio Matos.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin St. Waterbury. Everyone attending is kindly asked to go directly to Church. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5-8 pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
