Mary Wasoka

Mrs. Mary (Sickola) Wasoka, 91, of 7 Sickola Dr., Beacon Falls, died Saturday evening Mar. 21, 2009 at the Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Charles A. Wasoka, who died in 1994, after 55 years of marriage.

Mrs. Wasoka was born in Naugatuck, Dec. 17, 1917, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Strizak) Sickola and was educated in the Naugatuck school system. She moved from Naugatuck to Beacon Falls, over 40 years ago, and had formerly worked at Peter Paul, Inc. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially in Vermont.

She leaves3 children; Charles Wasoka and his wife, Theresa of Naugatuck, Deborah Fazzino and her husband Frank, and Rachel Crosby and her husband Donald all of Beacon Falls; one brother, John Sickola of Beacon Falls; 5 grandchildren, David Wasoka, Gregory Wasoka, Frank Fazzino, Rachel Fazzino, and Alison Crosby; 2 great-grandchildren, Cadence Wasoka, and Alexandra Wasoka.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Mar. 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9 am until the time of the service.
