Mary O'Rourke

WATERBURY - Mary O'Rourke, 93, passed away Friday October 4, 2013 at Middlebury Convalescent Home.

Mary was born January 23, 1920 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John and Mary (McGivney) O'Rourke. She was a lifelong Waterbury resident where she was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. She had work for over forty years as an Inspector at Timex.

She resided at Middlebury Convalescent Home for the past several years. During those years she enjoyed her residency and was affectionately known as "Gangsta".

Mary is survived by her nephew Robert E. Bunnell of Myrtle Beach, SC; her nieces Joan B. Barker of East Hampton, Peggy Hunt and Noreen O'Rourke both of Fort Collins, CO; her brother Edward O'Rourke and his wife Candy of Hamden; her cousins Pat and Gene Guerrera; as well as several great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Francis O'Rourke and her sister Rita Bunnell.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Monday October 7, 2013, 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to Middlebury Convalescent Home, where she received "Care Beyond Compare", 778 Middlebury Rd., Middlebury, CT 06762.
