TORRINGTON - Mary P. Lattimer, 95, formerly of Waterbury, passed away Thursday November 28, 2013 at Valerie Manor in Torrington. She was the wife of the late Lester R. Lattimer who passed away in 1985.

Mrs. Lattimer was born in Waterbury Oct. 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Jacob and Katherine (Povilonis) Azunaris and was a Waterbury resident all her life, growing up in the Town Plot section. She attended B.W. Tinker Elementary School, was a graduate of Crosby High School, Class of 1936, and attended Post College. She was a retired employee of the Silas Bronson Library, where she had served as secretary to the director for many years. She was a member of the Union Congregational Church of Oakville and had been a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader when her children were younger. She had been a volunteer with Literacy Volunteers and was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Library.

Mrs. Lattimer is survived by her sons, John L. Lattimer and his wife, Rita, of Granby and Stephen H. Lattimer and his wife, Nancy, of Thomaston; her daughter, Elaine Sabo, and her husband, Mahlon, of Torrington; four grandchildren, Craig Lattimer and his wife, Julie, of Manhattan, N.Y; David Lattimer and his wife, Monica, of Waterbury; Chelsea Sabo and her fianc, Keith Murray, of Torrington; and Ryan Sabo of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Edward, William, and John; and sisters, Olga Pitcher, Molly Booth, and Aldona Hanscom.

The family would like to thank the staff of Valerie Manor for their kindness and medical care during Mrs. Lattimer's stay.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 3, 2013 at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Lithuanian Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Lattimer's name to the Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or the Friends of Silas Bronson Library, P.O.
