Mary Jane Roosa

WATERBURY – Mary Jane Roosa, 96, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late William H. Roosa Jr.

Mrs. Roosa was born February 19, 1928 in New Haven, daughter of the late James and Florence (Slater) McNaney. She was a retired teacher’s aide, supporting children with special needs.

Mrs. Roosa leaves behind her daughters; Patty Nagle of Southington, and Kathy Roosa of Plainville, her sons; Jim Roosa, and his wife, Cathy, of Waterbury, Gary Roosa of Naples FL, John Roosa and his wife, Beth, of Cheshire, and Tim Roosa and his wife, Lisa, of Woodbury; and her sister, Ellen Mahaney of Southbury. She will also be missed by her sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Roosa was predeceased by her son-in-law, Bill Nagle.

Her family would especially like to thank her neighbors, Anne and Frank Kane, for the many years of love, friendship, and support that they provided to our mother.

Arrangements: Friends may greet her family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at St Anthony's Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in her name, can be made to the Greater Waterbury Campership Fund.
