CHESHIRE - Mary D. Hart, 86, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family Thursday, January 7, 2016. She was the beloved wife of James M. Hart.
Mary was born May 5, 1929 in Wethersfield, the daughter of the late Dwight and Dorothy (Mann) Douglass. She was a Registered Nurse for many years serving a majority of her career in public health. She was a longtime Cheshire resident where she was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She was active within the community as part of the Cheshire Women's Club and looked forward to her bowling and bridge club activities. She enjoyed building puzzles, quilting, painting, hiking in the woods, and gardening. Mary loved animals but especially loved the time she spent with her family and friends.
Besides her husband of 63 years, Mary is survived by her children Robert Hart and his wife Cynthia of Harwinton, Susan (Hart) Johnson and her husband Timothy of Cheshire, Douglas Hart and his wife Claire of South Windsor, four grandchildren, Michelle, Kristen, Robert, and Jack, and her brother David Douglass of East Hartford. She was predeceased by her siblings Richard and Robert Douglass and Virginia Breed.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 59 Main St., Cheshire. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
