Mary M. Croweak, age 77, of Cheshire passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. She was the devoted wife of John F. Croweak and has been a Cheshire resident since 1979. Mary was born on October 21, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late Edwin and Catherine (Tallon) Geoppinger.

Mary earned her Nursing Degree at the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1957. She was a member of the St. Bridget's Ladies Guild and was the President of Cheshire Newcomers.

In addition to her husband, John of 55 years, Mary is survived by her loving children; Michelle McNally and her husband Donald of Wallingford, David Croweak and his wife Lauren of Cheshire, Beth Hunt and her husband Donald of Oxford, Jane Patterson of Burlington, Chris Croweak of Cheshire; five cherished grandchildren Ryan, Allison, Michael, Daniel and Kaitlyn; her brothers Thomas, William, Robert and Gerry; her sisters Rita, Patricia, Dorothy, Kathleen, Eileen and Virginia, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother James. She is deeply loved and missed

Arrangements - Mary's funeral will leave from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410, on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 9:15AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 5PM to 8PM. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Notre Dame (Uganda Mission), 1601 Dixie Highway, Covington, KY 41011.
