Mary Croke

WATERBURY- Mary Croke, 79, died Sunday July 19, 2015 at Meridian Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Croke.

Mrs. Croke was born May 22, 1936 in Waterbury daughter of the late William and Margaret (Moriarty) Fitzgerald.

Mary was a Registered Nurse prior to her retirement, and a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

She is survived by three sons William and his wife Tempe Croke of Austerlitz, NY, Edward Croke Jr. of Terryville, and Timothy and his wife Gina Croke of New Fairfield; her daughter Mary and her husband Gary Woods of Waterbury; her sister Eileen Fitzgerald of Norwalk; six grandchildren Jason, Michael, T.J, Winter, Shane, Morgan; and several nieces, and nephews including Pat, Jimmy, John, and Chris Norris .She was predeceased by her daughter Margaret Croke, a son Charles Croke, and her twin sister Margaret Norris.

Mary’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff and hospices nurse at Meridian Manor for the care they showed her during her stay.

Arrangements- Mrs. Croke’s funeral will be held 10:15 A.M Thursday July 23, 2015 from The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710 and proceed to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St, Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9:30 A.M until the procession leaves for church. Donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd Newington, CT 06111, or to a charity of one’s choice.
