Mary Butkevicius

LEBANON, TN.- Mrs. Mary A. (Jacaruso) Butkevicius, 76, of Lebanon, TN. And a former 3 term member of the Board of Alderman of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday Aug. 4, 2012 at the Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon. She was the wife of Joseph W. Butkevicius, Sr.

Mary was born in Waterbury, July 6, 1936, a daughter of the late John and Mary (DiSorbo) Jacaruso and had been a resident of Lebanon for the past three years, moving here from Waterbury. She had been active in Democratic politics for many years, and had served three terms on of Board of Alderman under the administration of Mayor Edward D. Bergin, Jr.

Besides her husband of 52 years, of Lebanon, she leaves one son, Joseph W. Butkevicius, Jr. of Lebanon, TN.; two sisters, Margaret DiMeco and her husband Gabriel of Waterbury and Delores Santarsiero of Naugatuck; 2 nieces, Wanda Mascola of Naugatuck and Margaret DiMeco of Wolcott and 2 nephews, Gabriel DiMeco of Wolcott and Michael DiMeco of Oakville and 9 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Sept. 7, 2012 at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury 06702-2005 at 1:30 p.m., Friends are asked to meet directly at the church prior to mass. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, East Main St., Waterbury, 06705-2643. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis-St. Hedwig School, 294 Church St., Naugatuck, CT 06770-2805 or to St Francis of Assisi Church, "Donahue Hall Restoration Fund", 318 Church St., Naugatuck, 06770-2805
