CHESHIRE – Markham (Mark) S. Ocoma, 78, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at Chatham Place at Mary Wade in New Haven.
Mark was born October 28, 1946, in Manaoag, Philippines, son of the late Maximino and Corazon (Salinas) Ocoma. He was a retired supervisor for the United States Postal Service and also served during the Vietnam War as a Sargent in the United States Air Force. Mark was an avid tennis player, golfer and enjoyed camping and backpacking throughout New England. He was also a New York Yankees fan dating back to his youth and over the last many years enjoyed supporting the Cheshire High School girls and boys’ volleyball teams where his son, Jared, is a coach. Perhaps his most impactful contributions to the Cheshire youth community were his involvement in coaching little league baseball and helping to run the local ski club.
Mr. Ocoma leaves behind his sons, Jared Ocoma (Lauren) of Cheshire and Jason Ocoma (Stephen) of Eagleville PA, and his sisters, Gwen Foote (George) and Cordella Miessau (Rick). He will also be missed by his Grandson Maximan Ocoma. In addition to his parents, Mark was predeceased by his nephew, Eric Miessau.
Arrangements: – Services for Mr. Ocoma are private, and will be held at the discretion of his family. There are no calling hours and the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Mark Ocoma’s name, can be made to the Cheshire High School Booster Club.
