Francis M. "Frank" Markey, Sr.
1946 - 2019

Beacon Falls, CT Francis M. “Frank” Markey, Sr., 73, husband of Sally Markey, died August 11, 2019.

Frank was born on March 19, 1946 in Woodstock, N.B., Canada a son of the late Wilfred and Mary (Travis) Markey. Frank moved to the United States in 1962 and he always said that he considered Canada his birthplace and the United States his home. Frank lived for the past 10 years in Beacon Falls and also for 30 years in Naugatuck and proudly served in the Army National Guard. Frank worked for most of his life as a self-employed carpenter; his company was Frank’s Carpentry.

In addition to Sally, his loving wife of 53 years, Frank is survived by his son, Fran Markey (Mary), his daughter, Janice Perez (Mike); his grandchildren, Jay, Matt, Cassy, Robbie, Travis and Tyler; his great grandchildren, Nick, Alina and Dommy; his brothers and sisters, Bernard Markey (Linda), Marie McDonald (Paul), David Markey (Joyce) and Carol Robillard (Elmer) and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother Lloyd Markey, his sister, Doris Markey and his brothers and sisters in law, Tom and Betty Markey and Willie and Sharon Markey.

A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be Wednesday from 5-7pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Frank’s memory, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
