Mark G. Peters

CHESHIRE – Mark G. Peters, 61, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at his home. He was the husband of Evelyn Gallagher.

Mark was born January 12, 1958, in Bronx, New York, a son of Violetta (Barranca) and the late John Peters. He was a 1976 graduate of New Canaan High School and an alumnus of The University of South Carolina where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.

Besides his wife, Mark is survived by his son, Owen Peters, his daughter, Mairead Peters, his brother, David Peters, and his sister, Elena Schlegel and her husband Steve and their children Jack and Matthew. He’s also survived by sisters and brothers in law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Evan Peters, and his niece Katherine Schlegel.

Mark was an avid lover of music and an environmentalist. He enjoyed spending his time with friends and family and loved the outdoors and especially spending time on the beach, fishing, or bike riding. His compassion for animals, the environment, and music were unprecedented and those who knew Mark understood their importance in his life. He cherished his family and friends and the mementos from his past.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at 11:00 am at St. Bridget Church / St. Bridget of Sweden Parish, 175 Main St. Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire. There are no calling hours and The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
