Mark Fortier

WATERBURY- Mr. Mark L. Fortier, Sr., 56, of Waterbury, passed away early Friday morning Jan. 24, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Ann D. (Demske) Fortier.

Mark was born in Waterbury,May 3, 1957, a son of Mrs. Ruth (Gendron) Fortier and the late Theodore Fortier and was educated in the local school system. He was a graduate Wolcott High School and prior to his illness, was employed by various trucking companies as a truck driver.

Besides his wife of 39 years, and his mother of Wolcott, he leaves one son Mark Fortier, Jr. of East Millinocket, ME; 3 grandchildren, Dakota Fortier, Desiree Elliot, and Lila Fortier. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Ted.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the South Congregational Church, 160 Piedmont St., Waterbury, 06706. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is assisting the family with the arrangements.
