Marie Moorfoot

Marie Moorfoot, 89, of Waterbury, widow of the late James B. Moorfoot, passed away on August 30, 2024. She was born on October 4, 1934, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Steponaitis) Baranauskas.

Marie worked at Timex and later as a secretary for Alford Industries in New Jersey where she resided for 28 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and most of all her family.

Marie leaves behind a daughter, Clarissa Paiva; granddaughter, Alicia Warnecke, and her husband Scott Day; a great-granddaughter, Aurelia Day; and nephew, Larry Maknis and family; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, William Baranauskas, August Baranauskas, Lillian Kilian and Elizabeth Maknis; and nephew, David Maknis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 1263 West St., Middlebury, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Leever Cancer Center.
