Marguerite 'Maggie' Tapken

Marguerite “Maggie” Tapken, age 93, of Wallingford and formerly of Waterbury entered into rest on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Maggie was born on September 11, 1923 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Karl and Marguerite (Merritt) Tapken.

She worked as a secretary for Farrell’s in Waterbury for over 44 years and was a member of the St. John Episcopal Church Choir. In the 1980’s Maggie moved to Wallingford, where she became a part of the Sunny Acres community and was also a member of the Wallingford Senior Center, their knitting group and the Red Hat Society.

Marguerite is the loving aunt of Linda Tapken of Brooklyn, NY and Nancy Williams of Fairhope, AL. She was predeceased by her brothers, Mort and Warren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10AM in New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road, Waterbury. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with her arrangements.
