Margarete Disbrow

Cheshire - Margarete Disbrow, 93, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Elim Park Health Care surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 69 years to her husband, Myron Disbrow.

Mrs. Disbrow was born November 26, 1928, in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Paul and Alma (Schallbruch) Cames. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Disbrow is survived by her children, Joan Lafferty and her husband Tim, and Linda Disbrow. She is predeceased by her son Paul and her two grandsons, Peter and Joseph.
Margarete was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Nursing. She received her Masters in Health Supervision from Fairfield University. Margarete began her career as a Science Instructor at Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Over the long course of her career, she served as a nurse, nursing supervisor and director of nursing in Stratford, Fairfield and Trumbull.

She and her husband were longtime members of Grace Episcopal Church in Trumbull, St. Monica’s Episcopal Church in Naples, FL and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Cheshire. They enjoyed traveling, winters in Florida, volunteering and spending time with their loving family and many friends.

Arrangements – A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Nelson Hall at Elim Park, 150 Cook Hill Rd. Covid vaccination cards are required for entrance into Elim Park. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
