THOMASTON- Mrs. Margaret Eleanor Moruska, 82, of Thomaston went home to the Lord on Sunday Jan. 2,2011 at the Waterbury Hospital.
Mrs. Moruska was born in Kankakee, Ill., on January 31, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Florence (Wilkinson) Henricks and was a graduate of Kankakee High School. Her family moved to Beacon Falls and then finally to Naugatuck.
Marge worked at the Naugatuck Rubber Co.-Footwear Div., was a Secretary at the Naugatuck YMCA and later for the Bristol Co. and Warner Associates. She had also worked as a home health aide at Aid and Assistance in Waterbury until her retirement. She also belonged to the Civil Air Patrol in her youth, along with her brother Bob. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck and the Christian Life Center in Wolcott.
Her greatest joy was taking care of anything that either had fur or feathers, whether they were inside or out. She will be remembered for her wonderful and talented baking skills. She would make everyone their special and unique birthday cakes every year. Also a talent she had was writing funny and touching poems for family and friends. One of her last poems was for a qujilt club in Forest, Virginia who were making quilts for Breast Cancer Month this past year. But "Muggie" will always remain in everyone's heart as the most caring and loving person on this earth. Her ear was always there for anyone to talk to and ask for advice and guidance from.
She is survived by her daughter MaryEllen Dow and her husband Robert of Thomaston, with whom she made her home; heer grandson and the love of her life, Stephen; her sisters, Barbara Henrichs of Naugatuck and Marylin Quadrato of Prospect ;her brother, Robert Henrichs and his wife Margaret of Willsboro, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Cherl Ann Moruska and just recently her sister, Virginia Andrews of Cheshire.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Jan. 6, 2011 at 10 am at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 am until the time of the service.
