BRENTWOOD, NH- Margaret Lillian (Yutzler) Boudo, 94, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yutzler, of Waterbury, was a graduate of the Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing, and enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse. Margaret was known as the “neighborhood nurse”, always ready to care for friends and the neighborhood children whenever there was a need.
Mrs. Boudo married Lt. Francis “Frank” P. Boudo, also of Waterbury, and together they enjoyed a sixty five year marriage. When’s Frank’s tour of duty during World War II ended, they settled in Waterbury, started their family, and became a wonderful team. For many years she and Frank, both devout Catholics who lived by a strong belief in demonstrating kindness to others, made sandwiches for the needy, and actively served their church. Margaret was a great knitter and contributed numerous baptismal blankets whenever the new little ones arrived; she also knitted hats and mittens for charity. When Mrs. Boudo retired form nursing, she volunteered for many years at the WARC’s (Waterbury Association of Retarded Citizens) Bargain Box where she trained, and supervised special needs adults working in the shop while serving the public.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, her son Stephen, and her brother Frederick Yutzler. She leaves behind her children Peter Boudo and his wife Patricia (Ciarlo) Boudo, Bonnie O’Connell and her husband John Joseph “Pat” O’Connell, Susan Slabon and her husband Roland, and Cynthia Glosser. Mrs. Boudo was blessed with eight grandchildren: Peter Boudo Jr., Jennifer Boudo-Fortier, and Lauren Morrissey; Stephanie, Alena, and Michael Slabon; Maura Sweeney; and Katherine Glosser. She also enjoyed her seven great grandchildren: Sydney and Brianna Morrissey, Madelyn Davis, Londyn and Emery Sweeney, and Ella and Channing Boudo. Margaret was also survived by her loving niece, Joan Langlois.
Arrangements- Calling hours for Mrs. Boudo will be held 8 A.M, Friday, January 6, 2017 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710 until her procession leaves the funeral home for a 9:30 A.M Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St, Waterbury, 06702. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Donations in Margaret’s name may be made to the Connecticut Special Olympics, 2666 State Street, Unit#1, Hamden, CT 06517.
