Margaret T. Higgiston, 92, formerly of Chipman Street, past peacefully into God's Grace on Saturday January 3, 2009 at the Bucks Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, which became a family to her.

Miss Higgiston was born on November 2, 1916 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Michael and Attracta (Loftus) Higgiston and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She attended Waterbury schools, graduating from Crosby High School and the Perry Secretarial School. She was the Cost Accounting Supervisor at the Waterbury Farrell Company retiring after many years of service. Miss Higgiston was a Communicant of Saint Patrick's Church, where she was a former member of the Ladies Guild.

She leaves her brother, John J. Higgiston and his wife Louise of Hamden, two nieces, Mary Louise Higgiston of Hamden and Cynthia Solomita and her husband Armand of Waterbury, seven grand nieces and nephews, Richard and Sandra Solomita of Beacon Falls, Mary E. Solomita of MA., Kris and Myrna Solomita of San Jose, CA. and Holly and Jason Fitzgerald of MA., four great grand nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Kristina and Mark Solomita of San Jose, CA. and Jason Fitzgerald, Jr. of MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Miss Higgiston will be celebrated Wednesday January 7, at 11 a.m. at Saint Patrick's Church. Friends are asked to meet directly at the Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint Patrick's Church 50 Charles Street Waterbury, CT. 06708. The Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main Street, Waterbury has care of arrangements.
