Meriden - Margaret E. Clossick, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden, CT where she had lived the past 10 years.
Ms. Clossick was born on February 24, 1932 in New Haven, the daughter of the late William and Bridget Clossick. She graduated from the Hospital of St Raphael School of Nursing in 1951 and worked as a private duty registered nurse in New Haven hospitals for many years. Margaret retired from the CT Department of Developmental Services, Central CT Regional Center, Meriden, CT, after providing years of loving nursing care to persons with intellectual disabilities residing in the facility. She was also a loyal follower of UCONN basketball, especially the lady Huskies.
Margaret is survived by her sister Ellen McNeil of Cheshire; nieces Lauren McNeil Backman of Cheshire, Gail Wilson Greco of Seymour; nephews, Craig McNeil of Littleton, CO, Edward McNeil of Schwenksville, PA, and Paul Wilson of Rose, New York. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Mary Jane Wilson, and her brother, William Clossick.
Her family would like to thank and express their appreciation to the entire staff at the CT Baptist Home of Meriden for all the love, dedication, and special care given to Margaret.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Road, Cheshire. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in North Haven Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's name to Connecticut Baptist Homes, Inc. 292 Thorpe Ave., Meriden, CT 06450. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
