Margaret Balkus

WATERBURY; Mrs. Margaret R. (Reichenbach) Balkus 92, of Waterbury passed away Monday January 31, 2011 at her home. She was the widow of John D.Balkus.

Mrs. Balkus was born January 13, 1919 in Waterbury the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys (Coleman) Reichenbach and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She was educated in Waterbury schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and was a longtime member of the Bucks Hill Community Club.

She leaves her son, Roy A. Balkus and his wife Teddi Therkildsen of Wolcott, her daughter, Kenda Davis and her husband Leon of Burlington, her granddaughter, Meghan Balkus of South Boston and her son-in-law, Alfred Coppola of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her daughter Janet Coppola.

Margaret's family would like thank Mary, Jericha, Maria, Melanie, Samira and Michelle for their care and devotion.

Funeral services for Mrs. Balkus will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.
