Leonard Mangine

Naugatuck, CT Leonard W. “Lenny” Mangine, 91, died peacefully on March 27, 2018 at Hartford Hospital.

Lenny was born on August 7, 1926 in Naugatuck, CT a son of the late Dominick and Angeline Mangine and lived in Naugatuck all of his life. He retired as a master tool maker after many years as the Director of Product Design at Braxton Manufacturing. He was a proud W.W.II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Lenny will be remembered as a kind and loving father, a beloved brother and uncle and a devoted and heartfelt friend to those fortunate enough to have known him. A gifted singer and guitar player, a wise mentor, an avid outdoorsman and an outstanding story-teller, Lenny was genuine in spirit and authentic in manner to all the lives he touched. His legacy reflects a remarkably full life rich with acts of kindness and helping others and he leaves those who knew him touched by his unassuming presence and strength of character.

Lenny was a willing and sensitive listener offering comfort and understanding to friends and family in times of need. He was always available. Lenny was also known for his incredible talent as someone who could diagnose and fix just about anything. If it was broken; Lenny could fix it. He could often be found cheering on his beloved Red Sox as he watched them on tv. There are no words to describe how much he will be missed. Lenny was a gentleman; an exceptional and incomparable man.
