Madeline V. Murphy

CHESHIRE- Madeline V. Murphy, 92, passed away Friday August 29, 2014 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. She was the loving wife of Howard E. Murphy Sr.

She was born April 13, 1922 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Condon) Vivian.

Madeline was a graduate of the Assumption School, Ansonia High School, and Lasell College where she received a degree in Business. She was a member of the Catholic Charity League, St. Raphael’s Auxiliary and a longtime member of the New Haven Country Club.

In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by a son, Howard E. Jr. and his wife, Mary Ellen Murphy of Cheshire; a daughter, Maureen and her husband, Michael Walsh of Bedford, NH; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Murphy of Bluffton, SC; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son James F. Murphy.

Arrangements- Madeline’s funeral will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday, September 2nd from The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410, and proceed to St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Road, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave, North Haven, 06473. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M until the procession leaves for church.
