Louise Gooch

Louise Gooch, 68, of Burlington, NC, formerly of Waterbury, CT, died May 5, 2023 after an extended illness. Louise was born May 26, 1954 in Oxford, NC to the late William Gooch and Hester Mae (Crosby) Gooch.

She graduated from Crosby High School. She retired from New Britain General Hospital in 2019. Louise loved to shop, travel, watch old westerns, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church Outreach Ministry.

Louise is survived by her son Dila Hassiem and his wife Mona of Burlington, NC with whom she lived her final weeks; her step-mother Carolyn Hegedus Gooch; three grandsons Duane, Julian and Joshua; a great-granddaughter Leniah; a half-brother Myron; two step-brothers Christopher and Ronald; a niece Tressa; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers James and Antonio (Tony). The family would like to acknowledge her cousins, Judie Ward and Cynthia Collins, for assisting Louise during her illness.
