WATERBURY- Louis H. Semler, 91, formerly of Cheshire, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Waterbury Hospital.
He was born August 30, 1922 in Meriden, CT son of the late Hilda and Louis Semler.
Louis was a graduate of Meriden High School and a veteran of U.S. Army. He was an employee for many years at Southbury Training School, Southbury Ct, and a Gardener for Private Estates.
Louis was a self-taught pianist and loved photography. He would surprise his family with exquisite flower arrangements. Louis was a natural caregiver while taking care of his mother in her senior years as well as others in need of assistance. Always having a big dog, Louis was a true animal lover.
Louis leaves his niece, Gwen F. Smith of Cheshire, Ct. as well as several other nieces & nephews and grand nieces and nephews throughout CT.
Louis was predecessed by his mother and father, Hilda and Louis as well as his 4 sisters: Hazel Dionne, Evelyn Arscott, Hilda (Dolly) Bernius and Doris Buckholz. Louis had a second family with devoted staff at The Village at East Farms in Waterbury for the last several years.
Special tribute to Attorney John Palumbo of Waterbury and his staff who devoted hours of their time and expertise in caring for Louis affairs for almost a decade.
Arrangements- Funeral services for Louis will be private and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, is assisting with the arrangements.
