Louis J. Palma, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 90. Born on January 22, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Domenic and Claire Palma, Louis was a longtime Cheshire resident. Louis was a devoted family man, having married his high school sweetheart, Bettina Paladino on February 4, 1956. Together, they raised their son, Paul (Allyson), and cherished their two grandsons, Brandon and Colin. Along with his parents Louis was preceded by his brother and sisters, Anthony Palma, Eleanor Consoli, Rene Nicola and Helen Dolan,
Louis was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, and was a member of Saint Bridget of Sweden Parish.
Professionally, Louis had quite the journey. He made his mark as a programmer at Uniroyal in Naugatuck and Oxford and was also the owner of Second Glance Ladies Shop and Tots and Teens, an infant to pre-teen clothing shop both located on South Main Street in Cheshire. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his work endeared him to many.
Outside of work, Louis had a zest for life. He loved bowling and had a special fondness for horse racing, especially trips to Saratoga during the racing season. A die-hard fan of the New York Yankees, the Jets, and the Knickerbockers, he always found joy in supporting his teams.
Louis's family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Friday March 21, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Louis’ name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter 200 Executive Blvd. S #4-B Southington, CT 06489.
