NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Lorraine (DePasquale) Elser, 66, of Naugatuck, wife of Dr. John P. Elser, M.D., passed away early Saturday morning Sept. 19, 2015 at the Beacon Brook Health Center, Naugatuck.
Mrs. Elser was born in Waterbury, July 31, 1949, a daughter of the late Philip and Carmela (Labriola) DePasquale and had been a Naugatuck resident her entire life. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and St. Raphael’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as the Office Manager at Naugatuck Pediatrics for over 42 years, retiring this past July.
She was a communicant of St. John of the Cross Church, Middlebury. Lori was very nurturing and loved children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and being with her lifelong friends. She will be greatly missed by many.
Besides her husband of 20 years, she leaves her one uncle, Dr. Gerald Labriola, M.D. of Naugatuck and a sister-in-law, Jill DePasquale of Voorheesville, N.Y.; “her kids” nieces Megan Berben of Glenmont, N.Y., Bridget DePasquale Morabito of Middlebury, and Kate Novitsky of Altamont, N.Y. and nephew Jason DePasquale of Annandale, V.A.; step-children, Jeanne Chenier of Holyoke, Mass., Dr. J. Michael Elser, M.D., of Middlebury, Dr. James J. Elser, PhD. of Apache Junction, AZ., Jacqueline Hoey of Brandan, MS., Jayne Welch, Esq. of Brandan, MS., and Joan McCasland of Naugatuck;16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 8 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Philip DePasquale.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday Oct 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 1321 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury, 06762. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross St. Naugatuck. The family will receive friends at the Parish Hall of the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the start of mass. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting the family with the arrangements.
