WATERBURY-Lorna (Spencer) Searles, 87 of Waterbury/Southington, passed away peacefully on July 12th, at Southington Care Center, surrounded by family and friends. She was the widow of the late Francis W. Searles.

Mrs. Searles was born April 24th 1925 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia Canada, the daughter of the late Viola (Rankin) and Morton G. Spencer She was a graduate of Crosby High School and Post College in Waterbury and was employed by American Brass Metal Hose Div. for over 25 years. She was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church in Waterbury. She was a member of Christ Church Women's Club, Waterbury Women's Club, VFW Post 8075 Women's Auxiliary, Mattatuck Senior Center, Prospect Senior Center, Evergreen Club, Sena's Bowling League, and Wolcott Seniors Line Dancers.

The family would like to personally thank the staff of Southngton Care Center for the excellent care they have provided to Lorna during her stay. She loved the staff and facility.

She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses Nancy & Frank Nardozzi of Southington, Carol & Mike McDonough of Hurricane WV, Mark and Kandace Searles of Charlotte, NC, her brother and sister-in-law Morton & Sheila Spencer of Litchfield, and sister-in-law Marie Spencer. She was predeceased by her brother Aurthur Spencer of Waterbury. She also had 7 grandchildren, Janet Stolfi Alfano (Mark), Nancy Stolfi Lundy (Mark), David Stolfi (Ann Marie), Aimee Rosengrant Rist (Thomas), Michelle Ferris (Jeremy), Leanne Searles, and Alyssa Searles, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday July 17th 9:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. and proceed to Christ Episcopal Church 2030 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705 for a service at 10 am. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery 850 Meriden Rd. Waterbury, CT Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made in Lorna's name to the Southington Care Center 45 Meriden Ave. Southington, Ct 06489.
