Lois Splain

Lois A. (Ahlgrim) Splain, 76, of Cheshire died Wednesday May 13, 2009 at Saint Luke's Hospital in New York. She was the widow of Walter E. Splain

Mrs. Splain was born March 7, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio a daughter of the late Arthur and Loretta (Brummer) Ahlgrim and has been a Cheshire resident for many years. She had worked at Cheshire Nursery retiring after many years of service. She was an active member of the Cheshire Senior Center and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire.

She is survived by three sons, Michael and his wife Donna Splain of Pleasanton, CA, Steven and his wife Lisa Splain of Cheshire and Matthew Splain of Burlington. Three daughters, Sally and her husband Larry Helmerich of Sylmar, CA. Susan and her husband Mark Silver of Valrico, FL. and Sandra and her husband Kent Bongarzone of Mansfield, MA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter .Lois was predeceased by one sister Jane Luekens.

Arrangements; Funeral services for Mrs. Splain will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire 111 Church St. Friends and relatives are asked to meet at the church. Calling Hours will be on Monday May 18. from 5 to 8 pm at the Slater Funeral Home 242 So. Main St. Cheshire. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
