Harold Litke

Naugatuck- Harold A. Litke, 83, of 220 May Street, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of Margaret (DeVico) Litke.

Mr. Litke was born on September 14, 1926 in Naugatuck, a son of the late Albert and Freda (Wilke) Litke. He retired from Uniroyal Inc after 35 years. He was a US Navy Veteran having served in WWII and in the Army National Guard during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Elks Club, he loved to play in softball leagues, loved duck pin bowling, played in the setback league at the Elks, was a big fan of the Red Sox and Giants and loved his garden.

He is survived by one daughter, Penny Litke of Falls Village, CT, three sons, William Litke of Naugatuck, Stephen Litke and his wife Nancy of Naugatuck, Robert Litke of Naugatuck, two sisters, Ruth Hohensee of Gloucester, MA and Claire Ardry of Beacon Falls, one brother, Norman Litke of Naugatuck, two grandchildren, Jeffrey Litke of Branford and Tracy Roberts and her husband Dave of Naugatuck, two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Christina Roberts and a good friend Paul Sandri of Naugatuck and several nieces, nephews and many brothers in law, sisters in law and friends.

He was predeceased by one daughter Kathleen Litke and two brothers Albert and Wilfred Litke and two sisters Evelyn Pisani and Violet Pisani.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coen St for a service at 10:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 5-8 p.m.
