Cheshire, Connecticut ' Lisa M. Kolodziej, 46, of Cheshire passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Hartford Hospital. She was Steven's beloved wife, companion, best friend, and Mary's Mommy.
Lisa was born January 29, 1962, in Logansport, Indiana, the daughter of Joan A. (Booher) Mucker and the late John E. Mucker. Lisa graduated from Ball State University; was a member of the Junior League and the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority; was a Daisy Scout troop leader; and a communicant of St. Thomas Becket Roman Catholic Church.
Lisa greatly cherished her family and each and every friendship she made throughout her life. She lived her faith, which sustained her always. At every opportunity, she put others before herself, enriching the lives of those whom she loved and who will forever love her. Lisa enjoyed her profession serving the greater business community through the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce of Shreveport, Louisiana, the Capitol Region Growth Council of Hartford, Connecticut, and most recently as the Executive Director of the Smaller Manufacturers Association of Naugatuck, Connecticut.
In keeping with her devotion to life, hope, joy, and happiness, Lisa was an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others.
Besides her husband and her mother, Lisa is survived by her daughter Mary Catherine. She is also survived by her brother Jon E. Mucker of Renton, Washington; and her brother David R. Mucker, sister-in-law Angie, and nephews Justin, Cory, Braxton, and Payton of Logansport, Indiana. Also surviving Lisa is her in-laws Henry and Margaret Kolodziej of Rocky Hill, Connecticut; Timothy and Ann Kolodziej Mangan, nephew Steven, and niece Audrey of Honeoye Falls, New York; Frank Kolodziej and Jeannine Machon, nephew Kevin and niece Allie, of Copenhagen, Denmark; and Justin Larson and Sandra Kolodziej Larson of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Arrangements ' Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main Street, Cheshire. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008, beginning from the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. and continuing to St. Thomas Becket Roman Catholic Church for Mass at 12 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Connecticut Health Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 263 Farmington Ave. Farmington, CT 06030, for whom Lisa and Steven are forever grateful.
