Middletown - Linda R. Burns, 65, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Water's Edge Center for Health & Rehab in Middletown.

Linda was born April 13, 1952 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late George E. and Shirley (McGuire) Burns. She was a long time Waterbury resident where she graduated from Crosby High School. She furthered her education at Mattatuck Community College, obtaining her Associates of Science degree in Medical Secretarial.

She was a Rainbow Girl and an active member of Mill Plain Union Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and was the church's Youth Fellowship Director for several years. Linda also worked with the youth at Silver Lake Conference Center in Sharon CT.

She was employed at Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington for many years and then at the VNA of Southington. Linda was also a CPR/First Aid instructor for the hospital and volunteered at Bradley Memorial's gift shop. Linda moved to Southington and has resided in Middletown over the last year.

Linda is survived by her sister Kathleen J. Burns of Waterbury; her nephew, Patrick Landon of Casper WY and her nieces Amanda Ney of Waterbury, and godchild, Jessica Ney of Watertown.

Arrangements – Linda’s funeral will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Mill Plain Union Church, 242 Southmayd Rd., Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 5-7PM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mill Plain Union Church, 242 Southmayd Rd., Waterbury, CT 06705.
