Linda Marie (White) Jones, a cherished resident of Cheshire, CT, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on January 13, 2025 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was the loving wife of the late James Jones who passed in 2023. Born on August 19, 1955, in New Haven, CT, a daughter of Agnes F. (Von Britton) White and the late Edward White. Linda lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.
Linda was a proud graduate of St. Martin DePorres Grammar School and Wilbur Cross High School and attended St. Mary's High School. Throughout her career, she made her mark as a Surgical Technician at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she worked tirelessly to care for others. She also shared her skills during her years at Quinnipiac University before retiring. Beyond her professional life, Linda was an active member of the Democratic Women's Club, where she found joy in engaging with others and advocating for her community. Her love for gardening was well-known; she had a remarkable green thumb and took special delight in nursing sick plants back to health. Linda was also an animal lover and enjoyed nothing more than chatting with her neighbors and sharing a friendly smile.
Linda leaves behind her two sons, James and Christopher Jones, and her siblings—sister Elizabeth Rogers and brothers Todd White, Edward White, and Roger White. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, including, Danielle Rogers, Shilah Arrington, Joseph White and Christopher Flowers. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Linda's life will be held Friday January 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Saint Bridget of Sweden Church 175 Main Street in Cheshire. Prayers of committal and interment will follow in All Saint’s Cemetery in North Haven. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street has care of arrangements.
