CHESHIRE - Leota (Seeley) Mazzacane, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 4, 2011, at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden with her family by her side. She was the wife of Joseph Mazzacane Sr.
Mrs. Mazzacane was born on April 16, 1934, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Joseph Seeley and Mary (Spitzschuch) Seeley. She and her husband moved to Cheshire in 1958 where her husband has owned and operated Cheshire Barber Shop continually since 1951. Mrs. Mazzacane was devoted to her family and centered her life on them. She loved to quilt, visit the casino and go to bingo on Tuesday nights. She was a Special Education teacher at the former Greenshire School in Cheshire and was a volunteer at New Britain Court.
Besides her husband of 58 years, Mrs. Mazzacane is survived by her four children Joseph Jr., Frank, Michael and Maria; her 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; her brother Joseph Seeley of Penfield, NY ; her sisters Marilyn Lugo of Deltona, FL and Grace Lange-Way of Richmond, ME as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Her smiling face and sense of humor will be sorely missed.
Arrangements - A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 7, 2011 at 1 p.m. at St. Bridget Church 175 Main St., Cheshire. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
